We had a wonderful Christmas break and a nice visit with Chris and Kates family. We don't get to see them very much and it is always nice to see them.

Tuesday night as a family we had the opportunity to participate in the sub for Santa's. We would pick a package call the people to deliver it to and then go and deliver it to the people. It has always been a lot of fun and a great way to help out in the community. Chris & Kate arrived late that night, so they missed out on the service project.

Wednesday Chris and Kate bought a bunch of stuff to make necklaces and showed us how to make them. My family needed a little help finishing them, but we had a real good time together. We played games and visited and a great time was had by all.

Thursday was a hang out day and that night we went to watch Jennifer play. Jennifer had another solid game. She was 5-6 from the field, 10pt, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 foul and 3 turnovers. She had a double double and only played 15 minutes. It was fun for the family to see her play and always nice when they win. They played Nevada and won 84-53.

Friday Chris's family went skiing and were very brave and took Timothy, Sara and Heather.
It was a great day and everyone had a good time. Especially Kate who skied hard and loved every minute of it.

Saturday was very busy and a lot of fun. We all went to the Movies and when we came back, Santa had come. It was a little of a shock to some, when they saw the pile of presents. They weren't sure if they should get everyone else or check out what they got first. But Timothy was very helpful when he saw it and just yelled to everyone and then checked out what was in his stocking. Then we all gathered and one at a time we opened presents. Then that night we had our traditional Shrimp Dinner. It was a very enjoyable day with great food and family.

Sunday Chris's family went to Church with us and David, Sara, Heather sang with the choir. It was a short program and a lot of musical numbers. Kate's mom made a great Italian dinner, which was different, but a nice change. Then that evening we acted out the Nativity and had the talent show. Everyone participated. You could preform a talent or read a Christmas story.

Chris & Kate bought us a new bball hoop for Christmas. It was very kind of them and we have really enjoyed it. Thanks Chris and Kate for your kindness.

Thanksgiving

On Tuesday Matt and Dana arrived at our house. I needed to run kids around so David went with Alan and Sara and hiked to the falls up battle creek canyon. It was a beautiful day and they had a great time.
Then that night Alan had a game and a group of us went and watched the game. Alan did good, but the team lost.

Wednesday Timothy had a game and those that didn't make it to Alan's game went to Timothy's game. He played a little at the end and shot twice and make one. He is just a freshman, so he is still learning a lot, but seems to have a good time. That afternoon before Jennifer's game Robby Bosco the quarterback of the 1984? championship team, gave us a tour of the legacy building. It was very nice to have a private tour and we all had a great time. Some people even got pictures of him and he even signed a football for Matt's family.

Then we all went to Jennifer's game. BYU played Wisconsin and won 77-59 and Jennifer had 10 points, 3 blocks, and 3 rebounds. She was only in 19 mins and played great.

We wanted to try and do something active each day, so thurs we went for a walk on the Lindon trails. It was fun and a good opportunity for the adults to talk and the kids to get out. At noon most of us participated in a service project at the community center. They served a turkey dinner to people in need. It is always great to serve and everyone had a great time. Then during the day Timothy organized a ping pong tournament and a video game tournament for all those that wanted to participate. It was great fun and a riot to watch. Some where in there we had a great turkey dinner. Everyone helped cook and the foo was great. Dana's family had to leave that evening, but we really enjoyed the time we all had together.

Friday
Some people stayed up late or got up early to do some black Friday shopping. It wasn't my thing, but those that went had fun. Later that do those who were 12 and up went and did baptisms for dead. It is always nice to be in the Temple and even better to do it with family. It was a great day. That night some of us went to see the lights in SLC. It was cold, but beautiful and a fun time with cousins.

Sat
Lisa needed to do some shopping so I went with her to visit and we had a great time.
Then later that afternoon we went to watch Jennifer play Eastern Washington and won 77-58. Jennifer was the leading scorer with 13 pts, 4 blocks and 6 rebounds. She was 9-11 from the free throw line and played 17 mins. Had another solid game.

David's Birthday November 12th 2011

Sara wrapped this present and it had tons of tape on it. She had a lot of fun and Dad had to use scissors to open it. Great fun had by all.
This was the shirt that my mother made him.
Me, Jennifer, Erin and David's presents.
The balloons that he got from his siblings. A lot of fun.
Dinner out with the family

David's birthday is at a very busy time of year. I wanted to do something special, but i wasn't sure what. So I talked to Jennifer and we decided not to go really big and do something small with the family. We did want to have as many people as possible remember his birthday, so I had Erin send out an reminder to have everyone write something to him on his birthday. I couldn't do it, because he has access to my computer, and email. If I did it, I was sure he would find out. He did have a lot of people text or send him emails on his birthday. The best was that his siblings got together and gave him 50 black balloons and a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant.

While we were running around getting things done, someone came to our door with 50 balloons. I wasn't even there and he called me and asked me if I was behind it. I wasn't of course, but I did get a big laugh out of it. I don't think he was excited about it as I was.
He didn't want a lot for his birthdays, we helped him with some chores he wanted done and went out to dinner with him. Then we came home and had presents and a dessert of his choice. It wasn't anything big, but I think he felt loved and was with those he loved. We love him very much and he is good to us. He is a great husband, father and a friend to the community. I hope his day was wonderful.

Alan's Eagle November 13th 2011

The Eagle display at Alan's Eagle November 13th 2011.

I asked Alan to choose his favorite scripture and I was really impressed with his choice. I don't think it is easy to pick a scripture, but his one was perfect. If he follows this scripture in life, he will do well .

Refreshments with his friends.

At the Eagle Court of Honor we had a display for Alan.
I thought it turned out pretty good.

This was the photo that we used for his Eagle announcement.

He had his court of honor with Sam Larson and it turned out great. His grandpa was there to participate in the ceremony and David was very proud to have an Eagle scout.

We are so proud of Alan and his accomplishments in scouts. He did his eagle awhile ago, but just finished his paper work. We are so happy that he didn't give up and got it done. He is really talented in basketball and also very good example for our family.

Brother Scott & Brother Milner our home teachers.
Grandma & Grandpa were able to come. It was nice to have them there. The dress Heather is wearing was made by my mom. She did a great job. Heather was beautiful.
Jennifer wasn't there, but Erin was able to come.
The family Tresa, David, Alan, Timothy, Sara and Heather. Jennifer was away playing volleyball with BYU. We missed having her there. She text Heather and that made her day.
Heather Hamson & Norah Milner
Norah was also baptized that day.
Heather with Mom & Dad
Heather and her Dad by the photo of Jesus being baptized.
Heather was baptized and confirmed by her father on September 3rd 2011. It was a beautiful day and it was very nice to have family and friends there. The opening prayer was given by Timothy Hamson. The opening song was When I am Baptized. Talk on Baptism was given by Scott Milner(Norah's Grandpa). The witnesses for Heather's baptism was Allen Spaulding(Grandpa) and LaMar Scott(Home Teacher).

Alan Hamson gave the talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost. He did a great job. It was so nice to see my children growing up and making good choices. There was a really nice spirit there throughout the whole program. The closing song was When Jesus Christ was Baptised. The closing prayer was by Emily Milner.

Norah's grandparents where on a mission and couldn't be there, but they sent their testimony to be read outload for Norah. I thought that was a great way for them to be involved if they couldn't be there.

Oct 1st - 20th

Life is very busy. Jennifer and Sara are playing a lot of volleyball and some basketball. Alan & Timothy have basketball and Heather has horses & Gymnastics.

This month we found out that David has received a raise. The money will be nice, but I was more happy that he was being rewarded for his hard work. Work has been very demanding lately and has been a strain on him and the family. He is worried about how it is all going to turn out and there is a lot of fear in the future on how the economy is going. We both don't have a lot of control, but are trying to save as much as we can for the future.

Jennifer has had a rough month in volleyball. She is playing well, but would like to be playing better and wishing they could win more. She is solid as a rock and playing very consistent. The team is playing well, but have some areas they need to improve in. They also need to be a little more mentally tough. Which isn't easy and they are doing a lot better. They are still learning how to win. Playing through hard time and coming out on top. Have the talent to be a top 25 team, but a lot of work to actually be there.

This week has been hard. All the medical surgeries coming up and trying to find a balance between sports and being a good parent. It has been hard to be at all the athletic events and also keep a home in order. We already lost Heather this week and made me wonder how i can be two places at once. We are not perfect, but are trying to help all our children with all there needs.

Sept

In Sept we watched a lot of Volleyball and Jennifer was named the player of the month. She has been playing great and had gained a lot of confidence. It had been a lot of fun to watch her. Sara is also playing in a league and I try to help her when I can.

We also went to the Lindon Elementary Carnival and Heather had a lot of fun. Heather is also doing Horses and Gymnastics, while Timothy and Alan have started Bball.

We have also moved the girls to the green room and the boys into the purple room. That was quite the adventure. Everyone is pretty much moved in except for Alan. All his stuff is in the room, but most of his stuff is still on the floor. It wasn't fun, but needed to be done and the kids stuff is more organized now.

Aug 22-Sept 4

It has been really busy with school starting and my mom came down to do a sewing camp with Timothy and Heather. Heather made a skirt and shirt and Timothy made a tie and a snuggy. They had a lot of fun.

While my mom was here we also got an opportunity to go do baptisms with our children. It is always great to be in the temple. David did the baptisms and the confirmations. It was so nice to be in the temple with my family and see my husband use his priesthood.

Jennifer also started playing VB at BYU and is doing great.

Aug 15th-20th

On Wednesday of the week we had Heather's friends party. It was really weird not having the other kids around to help, but she had a lot of fun with friends and the party was a hit. They played fruit basket, went swimming, had push pops for their cake and opened presents. How they opened presents was very interesting. They would pick someone without Heather knowing and they would say happy birthday or sing happy birthday and she would guess who they were. It was fun to watch.

Sunday we had a the family birthday party for Heather while grandma was here. David is playing on his phone before the present opening began.

Bob and Gloria came up for a birthday party and stayed with us at the end of Lindon days and the beginning of this week. It was nice to have them around, but pretty crazy. They seemed to survive and left on Tuesday and took Alan and Timothy with them. They wanted to go spend some time with cousins before school started. They stayed down there until Monday and came home and started school on Tuesday. They had a good time and had fun with family.

Before they left, Sara when to Idaho to go pack packing with my mom. My mom had it all planned and they had a great time. Sara did great and even helped a little with grandma's load. They hiked four days and three nights. She went on a boat ride, saw five lakes, spent quality time with grandma and even made it to the hot springs before she got on the plane to come home. Yes, my mom tries to have as much fun in the shortest amount of time as possible. Never a dull moment.

Aug 8-13 Lindon Days

Lindon Days is an event that our whole family participates in. This year was a little more exciting because we were in charge of an event and helping with another. Monday we went swimming at the Lindon pool as a family. That was fun, but something we do, so not way exciting.

Tues the kids went to a video game tournament and had a lot of fun with their friends. Matt got 2nd in the smash brothers and someone else they knew did well in guitar Hero. Timothy, Alan and Sara were out early. Heather had some fun playing as well.

Thursday was the Horse n around event and Sara and I participated. We did the egg race, magazine race, and tandom bareback. Sara also did musical chairs and run lead ride. It was a lot of fun and a good laugh.

Friday we were in charge of the family arena events. That morning we helped Lewis Cox trailer the sheep to the arena and later that day he brought the chickens, pigs and steer. He was a great help and it was nice to get to know him and his family. The family arena events included sheep riding, steer riding, chicken chase, greased pig and the Ribbon race. Then in the middle of all that was the Mayor candy scramble. It was a great evening and a lot of people showed up to participate. We didn't quite have the help we were hoping for, but some of the city council stepped in and it all seemed to work out. One kid was hurt on the steer ride and I wanted to go help him, but I couldn't leave. So David told Bro Frampton to take care of it and he did a great job. It is always bothersome for me when children get hurt. The candy Scramble was a hit and everyone seemed to have a good time. It was fun, but I will be glad to only be helping Marcy and Brian next year.

Saturday was the mini rodeo, but only 5 horses showed up and it went very fast. I felt bad that so few showed up, but everyone there had a good time. Lewis was so kind that he let everyone have a ride on his horses after the event. We tried to make it to the fireworks, but a big storm blue threw and the concert was canceled and they did the fireworks as soon as the storm broke, but we didn't get back in time. David felt bad, but we did the best we could and had a good time with family.

July 30th 2011

Saturday was a very busy day. David and Alan went to Camp Helamen at Aspen Lakes and had a great time. Sara went with a friend to Colorado. Heather went to the county meet and did well. She was first in the medley and freestyle relay. Second in breaststroke, 11th in freestyle, and 14th in backstroke. After the swim meet, I went to the gym to exercise and Heather went with me. She was so funny. She wanted to do everything I did and then when she was bored she ran some laps. Then after all that, she wouldn't let me leave without playing some volleyball with me. We had a good time, but I was surprised she had energy to do everything.

Las Vegas Trip July 21st-23rd

Alan had a basketball tournament with his club team. It was Thursday-Monday. We couldn't stay the whole time, so went down on Thursday and came home on Saturday. We left Thursday afternoon and got in around 8pm. We unpacked and enjoyed some time in the pool. We then watched a Harry Potter movie. Some of us were behind and wanted to see them all before we watched the last one.

On Friday Alan had two games. We went to watch the first one, but wasn't expecting to pay $14 each. We were going to take the kids back to the condo, but they said we could babysit them at the gym. It was very nice of them to let us all stay. Alan played well, but lost a last second buzzer beater. Alan is getting more aggressive on offense and is really learning a lot about the game. We were really please with the coach and this team. Really great people. Everyone commented on the great man Alan is and how well he gets along with everyone.

In between games we went to the strip. It was hot and a lot of walking, but great to be together. We saw a show at the Ceasar Palace, it was fair, but the fish were cool. We saw some lions on the way to the M&M store and the soda store. At the M&M store we saw a free movie and Heather bought a hat. Then we were off to the roller coaster at New York New York. Heather was barely tall enough and Alan was able to fit, so off we went. It was fun and all the kids except Alan went again. Because of Alan's size it hurts more than it is fun. Vegas still just isn't a place for kids and not an ideal vacation spot.

That night we went to the second game and Alan played great. I don't have the exact stats, but he scored 10-12 pt and had good rebounds and blocks. Unfortunately one of the starters sprained an ankle in the first game and the other post hurt his eye in this game. They were doing great, but just ran out of steam at the end. They played well, but these teams are good. We lost, but only by a few points. That night we watched the last Harry Potter movie in the condo and that caught us up for Saturday.

Saturday we went to the 11am movie. We packed up and went to the Last Harry Potter movie. With all my passes it only cost 1.74, so we got popcorn too. The movie was good. We then had lunch in the car and the kids walked the mall, while we went to Alan's game. Alan's team played a really good team and it was hard only have 6 players. At half time I got up to go stand closer and fell down the bleachers. I was embarrassed and it hurt a lot. I was glad nothing was broke, but I was shaken up and in pain and a long ways from home. I guess I wasn't a happy camper. Timothy made a bed for me in the back, so I rested on the way home. It has almost been a week now and I am still sore. I guess it takes awhile, when you get older. Oh well.
We got home about 12:30pm that night.

July 4th 2011

On the 4th of July we went to the Lake. It was a great day, but Dad's boat wouldn't work. After awhile Roy played with it and it worked. We were all grateful and happy to be able to go tubing. My kids had a great time tubing with Roy. On one of the trips with Roy all of my kids said it was fun, but two had concussions(hit their head) and one was dizzy from rolling 5 or 6 times. I guess Jennifer hit her head on her own knee. Sara hit her head on one of the boys knees and Alan was thrown off outside the wake and rolled several times. It didn't seem to faze them, because they all were planning to go again when it was their turn. Great fun.

July 2nd 2011

The river was high this year and very fast. We usually do the south fork and the main, but it was to dangerous to do the south fork this year.

McKinley, Heather and Sage
First run with the girls and River. Heather was in the middle front. She started out having a great time, but got really wet and cold and moved to the back of the boat.

Heather had moved to the back in this photo.

This is the group after the first run.
This is Roy & Angela in the back and Jennifer & Alan in the front on the second run.
David didn't go the first time down, but didn't miss out in the Second run. It was me, David, Gary and Sara in one boat and Roy, Jennifer, Alan and Angela in the other boat. On the first run all but Gary ended up swimming, but no pictures.

Ashlyn having a great time, while we are getting the boats ready.

Alan ended up coming out on this one. It was funny that he didn't really swim. Half of him was in the water and the other half was in the boat. Only Alan would be able to pull that off.
